在從油桐花坊回苗栗的路上經過苗栗陶瓷博物館，所以我和小包就順便到園區參觀。之前由網路上得知裡面陳列各式各樣的陶瓷，非常想要進去親眼瞧瞧這些精緻的手工藝品，但礙於時間的關係沒有進去，只在入口處拍了張照片。

在博物館的前方有提供旅客休息的地方，也販售各式各樣客家風味的產品，業者引進「人妖秀」，讓長途跋涉的遊客也能放鬆心情，維妙維肖的模彷讓我想起之前的泰國行。原來在苗栗也可以看到同樣的表演，而且還是免費，我們就帶著驚奇的心情返回學校，結束一天精彩的旅程。

As Peter and I rode our motorcycle back to Miaoli City from the Tung Lodge, we passed the Miaoli Ceramic Museum. Although we both had seen some of their ceramic works on the Internet, the idea of experiencing the well crafted arts in person sounded interesting. Time was short, however, so we photographed the elegant entrance.

After leaving the museum, Peter and I saw a rest stop along the road where many Hakka products were sold. The owner had brought in a "Transgender Show" to entertain the guests while they shopped. Peter and I both agreed that the production was remarkably true to life, feeling as if we had actually been in Thailand. I was surprised that I could watch the same show from Thailand here in Miaoli County for free.

Once the program finished, Peter and I finally headed back to the school campus, ending an incredible day!

「苗栗陶瓷博物館」是文建會在苗栗積極推動的「地方文化館計畫」之一，就歷史層面來看，苗栗本來就是台灣陶瓷發展的重鎮，將近百年的發展。

而在空間的概念上，以現有及閒置空間再利用，讓苗栗陶瓷可以透過有系統及有趣的方式呈現，使其充份展現苗栗豐富多元的文化特色，成為地方文化據點與旅遊資源，進而為地方帶來就業機會與經濟效益。

「苗栗陶瓷博物館」集結了逾千件以上，富含苗栗歷史、文化與生活特色的陶瓷文物和作品，主題包括有公館營區、製陶師傅、酒甕風采、窯之生態、製陶技術，結合了苗栗陶瓷的風華，呈現苗栗陶瓷的古樸、包容與多元發展。

Miaoli Ceramic Museum is one of the local cultural museums, which is promoted aggressively by the Council for Cultural Affairs. Historically, Miaoli has been the core of the Taiwan ceramic industry for almost one-hundred-years.

As for the building itself, the Miaoli Ceramic Museum was once desolate and run down. After an extensive renovation, the ceramic creations can now be exhibited in a systematic and interesting way.
